Education Technology
Becoming comfortable with today’s technology as
a tool for improving learning
Advances in technology have changed
the face of education in countless ways over the past decade.
Changes such as more rapid communication via e-mail, research
information distributed over the worldwide web, the consolidation
of course materials through CD-ROM, and the development of more
accessible digital media have put a new spin on educational
methods and materials. The list of new technologies and the
changes to education that come with them grows longer every day.
E-learning and distance learning are the buzzwords zipping through
the education community, and businesses are scrambling to take
advantage of this new market.
With change taking
place at such an apparently rapid rate, and so many providers
eager to push the latest technology on their customers, it can be
quite easy for teachers and others in the world of education to
become overwhelmed. Our course on Education Technology provides
educators not only with an understanding of current technologies
and how they can be put to use, but with the information to make
their own decisions about what tools will work best for them.
Co-operative learning networks, electronic testing and evaluation,
virtual classrooms, and other new terms such as these are not as
complicated as they sound, and our goal is to break these ideas
down so that you can understand both how they work and whether
they will work for you. This course will be useful for educators
at all levels who wish to become more comfortable with today’s
learning technologies. We offer classes regularly, so please
